What is a Background Check?

A background check, also referred to as a criminal record check, is a verification of an individual’s criminal history. This process references the Canadian Repository of Criminal Records, which is the official Canadian database maintained by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

The cost to receive your RCMP Standard Criminal Record Check is $54.95.

Please note:

1. You must be at least 18 years of age.

2. You consent to the search of the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) and the RCMP National Repository of Criminal Records.

3. You understand that your application is not for a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC). These are completed in-person, at your local Police station only.
