Visitor: I have had countless job opportunities that I have not been able to accept and/or taken away once they see my criminal record. I am trying my hardest to provide for my two year old son but it seems I am stuck in the loop of low income jobs due to my record, I just finished my fire fighting school which was very expensive and now i must wait for my record to be cleared before I can even pursue this career path. Please let me know the steps we need to take to get the ball rolling
Pardons Canada: Most employers in Canada conduct criminal background checks when hiring even for jobs such as warehousing, retail, factory and most other jobs. Thankfully the Canadian government offers pardons also known as record suspensions to those who have stayed out of trouble for certain period of times, to wipe the slate clean and clear the way for a brighter future where you are contributing to society.
One pardon will remove your old offences as long as you’ve served your punishments and been out of trouble with the police for a period of five or ten years depending on the offence.
Pardons Canada undertakes the entire process on your behalf to ensure the pardon is granted.
