If you no longer live in Canada but have a criminal record, its possible to get a Canada Pardon which is often needed in order to return to Canada for immigration purposes.
When someone has been deported, they often leave behind in Canada family members who they are eager to reconnect with. Once a Canada Pardon is granted, it makes it easier to return to Canada.
Here is a letter we received from a person who we helped to obtain a Canada Pardon who had been deported from Canada:
“I can still not believe that I have done such a bad thing which ultimately separated me from my family and Canada. I didn’t beleive that I would get another chance to be with my family.”
“I was 24 when I was sent away from Canada due to a criminal record and poor immigration status. I am now 30 and have learned that most of the time you have to accept the consequences for your actions.”
“I have lived alone since I was gone from Canada and learned to stay away from trouble. In Sri Lanka, I felt lost and depressed because I couldn’t see my family in Canada. Every day I would think of when I could return to Canada to be with my family, but without a Canada Pardon it would be impossible.”
“Since Pardons Canada helped to get my criminal record removed, I feel like a new born child. I am not a rich man and even my life is worth than what Pardons Canada has done for me.”
“I look forward to returning to Canada to take care of my mom who is getting older and thats why we as children are there to take care of our parents when they need us most.”
