The Harper government is passing Bill C10, known as the Omnibus Crime Bill by steamrolling past opposition and by severely limiting debate on the subject in Parliament.

At Pardons Canada, we have been outspoken critics of Bill C10 and prior Bill C23 since its inception and we are not the only ones.

Irwin Cotler is the Member of Parliament for Mount Royal, first elected in November, 1999. He is a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada (2003-2006) and is Professor of Law Emeritus at McGill University where he taught law for 30 years.

An Officer of the Order of Canada, Prof. Cotler is the recipient of 10 honorary doctorates.
