Can a Person with a Recent Criminal Offence Travel to the U.S.?
There are many Canadians who have a criminal record and as a result cannot travel to the US.
Even if you have an absolute or conditional discharge or if the criminal charges were withdrawn, dismissed, stayed or acquitted, you might still get turned away at the US border.
If the Americans have already stopped you at the US border then you will need a US Entry Waiver to re-enter. If you have not yet been turned around at the border, it may be possible to cross without a US Waiver if you get a Canada Pardon first.
