There are many Canadians who have a criminal record and as a result cannot travel to the US.
Even if you have an absolute or conditional discharge or if the criminal charges were withdrawn, dismissed, stayed or acquitted, you might still get turned away at the US border.
If the Americans have already stopped you at the US border then you will need a US Entry Waiver to re-enter. If you have not yet been turned around at the border, it may be possible to cross without a US Waiver if you get a Canada Pardon first.
Every day we help Canadians obtain Pardons so that they will be safe to travel. Here is a letter we recently received:
“I would like to express my deep gratitude for granting me a Pardon and cannot begin to relate on how it has changed my life.”
“Before getting this Pardon, I couldn’t travel to the US and therefore missed the opportunity of seeing many family and friends for many years.”
“Now that I have been pardoned, I have registered to complete a Mortgage Broker course and am beginning my journey of achieving a financial career.”
“Also, a close friend is having a wedding in the USA at the end of this year and I am going to show my support.”
“This Pardon has saved me from expressing embarrasing condolences for not attending.”
“I feel as if a heavy boulder has been lifted off of me and can now begin really living my life.”
“I will forever be grateful for this pardon and can now finally begin to live my life as a responsible and lawful citizen free of such past burdens.”
