Pardons Canada: What is the wait time to get a pardon for a DUI?

I am writing to you regarding my case that happened roughly 4 years ago. I made the biggest mistake of my life back then and was charged with a DUI. The judge who was assigned to my case told me I had a year to pay my fine, because he knew I was in school at the time. Me not knowing that my pardon date was dependent on 5 years after the fine was paid, I thought it was based off of the date that I had been charged, and no one told me otherwise. 
I am really hoping that my pardon can be cleared five years of the date I was charged and arrested. That was the only time in my life I have ever been in trouble with the law. I was previously in school but unfortunately had to drop out because I couldn’t continue because of not having a clear police check. I have been trying for the past few months to get a job after getting laid off because of COVID from Air Canada. 
I am now really searching for jobs and it’s been extremely difficult and stressful for me because even after getting the job, once having to do a background check the workplaces have had to let me go because of my record. This has been causing me a lot of stress and putting me in a whole because I can’t get an actual job. I am also hoping to go back to school for Nursing or as a Personal Support Worker but I can’t do these program internships without having a clear background check.
I completely understand that I have to wait five years to receive a pardon and I have to deal with the consequences of my actions but I was really expecting to have this off my record by next year in 2021 which is 5 years of the date of my charge… Not six years.
Please if there is anyone I can speak to, or if anyone can help me during this tough time I would really appreciate it.

Pardons Canada: The law to get a pardon for a DUI, Impaired Driving, Care and Control, Refusal to provide breathe sample, Driving over .8 mg is five years from the end of your punishment which includes the fine payment. There is no getting around applying for a pardon earlier since it will be denied. Many people are not aware that they must pay a fine as part of their punishment and eligibility rules for a pardon or record suspension and it messes them up down the line. The good news is that you will get the pardon but you will need to wait the allotted period of time.
