Visitor: I am seeking clarification for a past offence which occurred many years ago. My memory is poor and I have forgotten most of the details of this particular incident. I am unsure whether or not my situation is relevant to Pardons Canada but I trust that you will be able to point me in the right direction. I have been trying to find employment for many months and only now am I realizing that the difficulty I am experiencing may be related to a criminal record.
1) To the best of my memory, I do not recall having my fingerprints taken. I could be wrong but if so then only once.
2) The incident occurred in the year 2013 or 2014 in Saint John, New Brunswick. I cannot recall the exact date or even what year it happened.
3) Failure to stop at the scene of an accident.
4) I was fined a couple hundred dollars. I did not appear in court.
Pardons Canada: If you were fingerprinted for this offence of leaving the scene of an accident then the criminal record may still exist. You or your lawyer likely did go to court as this is a serious offence. When applying for the pardon we will get the details on our end in terms of the dates and offences.
