Many people are unaware that having a criminal record can seriously affect employment opportunities as most employers do criminal background checks when hiring or promoting employees. Also, the US border patrol can refuse you entry if you have a criminal record.
Once a pardon or record suspension is granted, the DUI will get removed from public record and the person can be free to obtain whatever employment they wish without the obstacle of a criminal record.
