In Canada we have many immigrants who do not yet have their Canadian citizenship. Often they have either refugee status, work permits or permanent residence (landed immigrant) status. Regardless, they have established work and family here in Canada.
Having a criminal record can hinder your ability to gain Canadian citizenship and if you have been deported, often a Pardon is needed in order to be permitted to re-enter. By taking responsibility to clear your criminal record in Canada with a pardon, you are showing the Canadian government that you have rehabilitated and that you are serious about returning to Canada.
Here is a letter we recently received from a client who was deported to Jamaica:
“First of all let me just say how thankful and thrilled I am for receiving my Pardon. This is the greatest day of my life! Its like getting to go back in time to undo the bad stuff you did while growing up! I am born again! Thanks a trillion, you guys are the greatest at what you do.”
“My wife in Canada gave me the great news via telephone, because I am here in Jamaica; I must say that made my day! Thanks to everyone at Pardons Canada for taking the time to process my application and for coaching and coaxing me along through this process Thanks for all the help and expertise in guiding me through this time. With me being here in Jamaica, you guys were just a phone call or a mouse click away! It is difficult revisiting the bad choices that I made in the past, I am glad you kept me on track to the end.”
“As a father it means a lot to be able to think straight, be a role model and walk tall for your kids, family, relatives and friends, you gave back to me my self-esteem, my firm grip on life and a clear view for the future, this pardon will have a real positive effect on my life as I am in a field that requires trust and leadership, and I would not want to be viewed negatively.”
