Assault is probably the most common criminal charge and it often happens in the blink of an eye at a very stressful moment in a person’s life.
Its not right that a person has to suffer from this mistake for the rest of their lives with the burden of a criminal record.
Here is a letter from a client we recently helped get a Canada Pardon for a number of assault charges:
“I had a conviction for an assault charge stemming back to 1991, unfortunately in 198, I had another assault charge and had to go through the court process once again.”
“I was not convicted of the 1998 assault charge, so on my own, I tried to apply for a Pardon. I anxiously waited over a year and a half for a response before I received a denial to my pardon. At that point I gave up and was trying not to worry about it.”
“Then one day a friend told me about Pardons Canada and thought maybe with their help, I could still obtain a pardon. So I contacted your company and in no time I received a package and simply followed the instructions.”
“During the pardon process, i was in a pub and a brawl broke out, and even though I was not involved, I was charged, I ended up signing a peace bond, and the charges were dropped.”
“Unfortunately, even though there was no conviction, the incident reflected poorly of me in the eyes of the parole board that was considering my pardon application. They replied with a letter to your office stating their intent to deny my pardon application.”
“I felt like it was hopeless, but with the help of your staff, I was instructed to draft a letter outlining what had transpired the evening of the charges and why I signed a peace bond. I sent the letter back and in a few short weeks…..I received my canada pardon…I can’t tell you what a relief it is to be free from the burden of carrying a criminal conviction with you.”
“I can’t thank Pardons Canada enough, this has been with me for 18 years and to finally be free of it feels unbelievable and I know that I could not have done it without your help (obviously, as I tried), thank you again.”
