The mental and emotional burden of having a criminal record can weigh heavily on a person. Once the criminal record is removed by way of a pardon or record suspension the feeling of relief is immense.
Many people make regrettable mistakes in their lives at some point and we are fortunate that the Canadian government continues to maintain the pardon program in order to give people a second chance. By getting a pardon or record suspension, the criminal record no longer shows up on a criminal background check or on CPIC and therefore you are safe for employment, volunteering, coaching and traveling.
