Pardons Canada: Denied Entry at the US Border for a 30 Year Old Offence

Well as recently as this year, myself and family were crossing at the Niagara border and I was stopped and denied entry for a charge (theft) that happened 31 years ago. I have never been in trouble with the law since and am a home owner, have multiple credit cards and a line of credit and have worked at my current job for 28 years, as a customs Compliance Coordinator….funny!… 

Well when I was denied I was fingerprinted there and photographed…which I do think was a little excessive as my charge was in Canada and felt like the US had no right to do that…and made me feel like I was being judged on one mistake I did when I was 19 years old and am now 49 years of age. It was very embarrassing. The funny thing is I flew to Florida on multiple occasions prior to I think the Trump administration, and never had an issue..I was never treated the way I was on my last visit. Which I felt it was disrespectful. I am a good person and like I said was judged on something I did over 30 years ago.

So in saying that, if I do apply here for this pardon,  will I be accessible to cross as I have now been logged into the USA data bank as some criminal. And do not want to waste money or my time attempting to cross and paying for airfare to be denied.

Pardons Canada: Since you have been denied entry at the US border, then you will need a US Entry Waiver or I-92 to return to the US. A pardon will not help at this point as the Americans already know about your offence and will not let you in until a waiver is granted. If you had gotten a pardon prior to traveling then the Americans would not have seen the criminal offence and you would have been safe to travel.
