I have difficulty continuing with my pardon of my Canadian criminal record at this time due to fees as I am currently residing in Scotland with my husband and I have to pay for my spousal visa application at the moment. I just really needed some information regarding my criminal record in Canada. It has been 6 years since the assault charge and I was given a removal order from Canada back to my home land Trinidad and Tobago. I have never been in trouble with law priro to that one charge and still haven’t been. I was given anger management class and monthly check ins with parole officer which I did complete at the time . Also I was given the opportunity to appeal my case which I didn’t want to I just wanted to leave and go back to my country.
This charge was against my step father in 2013 March 5th in which he and my mother got in to a heated argument which led to me sticking him with a steak knife bearly in his shoulder trying to get out of a domestic violence situation that me and my siblings are well used to by my stepfather. At the time, me and my two other siblings, mother and stepfather were staying in Canada legally when this happened. He didn’t press charges against me but we decided to call the police to calm the situation down. He told the police what I did and took me into custody also he didn’t need medical attention.
I am terribly sorry for what I have done and wish I never did it. I am paying the consequences for years having to move back to Trinidad and having this charge in my life a popping up in areas where I need work or to even apply for my spousal visa here in Scotland. Also I will love to visit my loved ones in Canada again my mother and baby sister lives. Although me and my stepfather made amends since the same year of the charge in Canada we (my mother’s children or family) are not allowed to contact him or be in contact with him!
