Pardons Canada: Getting a Job with a DUI

Visitor: I am a Nurse, registered with the College of Nurses and this DUI or Impaired Driving charge is preventing me from successful employment. I quit my Emergency job, my estranged partner is a drug addict. I remain sober of alcohol (my abuse drug of choice) for 2 years. How much will this cost and how long will it take?

I am looking at reapplying to go back to school to achieve a PHD in medicine now, because every position I am awarded is taken away from me interview when I  am transparent in admitting my serious offence of having a DUI, as I know in my field it is mandatory- clear CRC !

School is my only option or welfare ! I am a sober, competent Nurse!
My conviction date for the DUI was Sept 25, 2018. I pled guilty, have done all mandatory education, I self reported to the CNO. How long will I be punished? I am not crying to the choir here…my kids only have me! My home was in foreclosure, I got it back. I quit my job to obtain $60,000.00 if 3 years pension monies when my ex levelled our life He went threw it in 3 months , left and his father whom I took in molested my 2 1/2 year old daughter! And so much more! I AM STILL SOBER!

No previous criminal record and a productive member of society! I took my punishment but it continues. The men that should be behind bars for their crimes walk free and a Mother is burned at the stake? Justice? I am apparently not educated enough in the fairness of proportional term of sentence.

Pardons Canada: A DUI or Impaired Driving is considered a criminal conviction and it will prevent you from getting work, especially in the health care field. The good news is that once your pardon is granted, you will be safe to get work again as the employers will not see anything when they run a criminal check on you.
