Visitor: This all occurred at peace arch boarder crossing. So basically I was crossing the border planning on going to my buddy’s cabin at black ranch mountain. I was also driving two other buddies of mine, upon arriving to the border we were sent to secondary inspection for bag checks and the officer found my weed pen that was less than 1g very small device and told me it was a class 1 drug that’s when I realized I messed up.

Before the trip I searched up if weed was legal in Washington state which was where I was heading and I confirmed that it was so I never thought it would’ve been a problem.

Anyways at the end of it I was sent back home and had to cancel my trip , and was told I have to sign a waiver every 5 years for permission to just cross the US border. I find this ridiculous and I was genuinely shocked for being treated like a criminal. I’m 29 years old I work two jobs and am a electrical apprentice and go to school at BCIT here in Burnaby BC.

Pardons Canada: You will now need a US entry waiver or I-192 to re-enter the USA. The Americans will give waivers for one to five years and then you will have to renew. We can help you with the application and make sure the Americans approve it on their end. To find out more, visit https://pardons.org/us-entry-waivers/
