Bill C10 and the Omnibus Crime Bill is set to pass into law shortly and will have a radical affect on a number of aspects of the criminal code including the pardons system.
Pardons Canada and other legal advocates have been opposed to Bill C10 from the beginning but the federal government is determined to pass this legislation.
The current Pardons system works and is an important element in our process of rehabilitation. Making it harder to obtain pardons with the new law will only have a negative impact on Canadians who are trying to reintegrate in society.
