There is currently a lot of attention surrounding the new Pardon legislation being proposed by the government.

In a haste to stave off Karla Homolka being pardoned in July, the Tories have tried to push through Bill C23 before Parliament breaks for the summer.

Bill C23 in its full form proposes many changes to the current Pardon system.  Many of these aspects to the Bill need to be examined and debated before being passed into law.

According to the most recent report on Wednedsay, June 16, the Tories made an agreement with the opposition parties to pass ONLY A PORTION of BILL C23 that would limit Pardons for sexual offenders with minors.  The rest of the Bill will be debated and properly scrutinized when Parliament resumes in the Fall.
