Its a fact, getting a job with a criminal record has gotten even harder.  Every day we hear from clients who are turned down for a job because of an old criminal record.

With more and more companies running criminal background checks on potential employees, it is necessary to get a Canada Pardon.

Here is a letter we recently received from a client who we helped to get a Canada Pardon:

“Today I am working in a sales role that simply would not have happened with a criminal record hanging over my head as I needed to be bonded.”

“Emotionally, without question, it had been a struggle at times to even consider opportunities as I was afraid the employer would ask “THE” question, Do you have a criminal record?   As a matter of fact about a year ago I did go to an interview where it was required to fill our a six page quiz applicable to the job description as well as papers requesting authorization re: criminal background check.  The employer left the room and I was left with the papers staring back at my face and I can tell you it was not the quiz.”

“Needless to say I did very badly on the quiz as my mind was not focused on the task at hand and I knew the subject inside and out.  When I got home I cried for several hours and then decided to call the employer and explain my situation.  Although she sounded empathetic it is fair to say I did not get the job.”

“I felt so disgusted with myself and totally ashamed.  I was desperate for employment, felt so alone and completely lost!”

“This was my first offence ever in my life and may it be my last but without the assertive actions of the people at Pardons Canada in our community, I have no doubt there would be many a decent individual still struggling unnecessarily and at the mercy of government employment/social assistance programs…I know I probably would be”
