Visitor: In the early morning hour of January 5 2018 while on an overtime call at the Point Aconi power plant here in Nova Scotia I flipped out at work and took a payloader tractor off site and drove it into my ex wife’s vacant home with the intention to knock it over in exchange for the ten thousand dollar payment that I made and she had stated that she was not going to pay back.

After doing that I came out of whatever crazy mindset I was in and decided my life is over I might as well make a run to the North Sydney liquor store to get a bottle of vodka at five in the morning.

I was charged with a number of mischief charges though it was clear that there was no intention to hurt anyone. I spent a little time in jail and was released on strict conditions as I had no previous criminal record.

Then on May 25th of the same year, still blaming my ex I started drinking, picked up the phone and called her at her workplace breaking two of the conditions. Needless to say I am an alcoholic and have not an ounce of alcohol since thanks to AA.

I plead guilty to all of the charges which were taking a vehicle without consent and the mischief charges and received a two year federal sentence. I was also fired from my job of twenty eight years in March of that year.

I am not defending my actions at all but I was under an incredible amount of financial and work stress when my ex notified me that she was taking me to family court just a few days before I had the meltdown.

I am working for the past year at a minimum wage job but I am hoping to be able to find something better paying as I have two teen age kids that I am supporting. They have not spoken to me since but I want to support them every step of the way until they finish university.
