Visitor: I am trying to help our my son who is almost 31. Back when he was 19 he hated my husband at the time and decided he was going to kill him. Nobody was injured, but the cops were called and myself and my son’s father both spoke to the cop and he said if Mark (my husband at the time who he wanted to kill) pressed charges, the judge would force him to get counseling which is all we wanted.
Mark was not going to press charges, he left that up to myself and my son’s father. Soooo, needless to say, it went to court (he used a court appointed lawyer which we now know was a big mistake). They nailed him with about 7 charges including assault and criminal harrasment.
It was a nightmare. He is now older and wiser, has a common law wife and a beautiful daughter who is 2. He can’t get a better job because of his criminal record. I wish we did things differently and not had him charged, but that is the past. How do we go about getting him a pardon, does he need 7 pardons or just 1 because it was all the same incident? How costly is this going to be? I have no clue how to help him. Any information would be appreciated.
Pardons Canada: One pardon will remove all of his offences and once the criminal record is pardoned then nothing will show up on the RCMP file or CPIC and he will be clear for any jobs in the future.
